Abobi Privacy Policy

In short: Abobi does not collect personal data. Your recordings are processed only on your Mac. There are no accounts, no analytics and no tracking. The only information that leaves your Mac is the title and author of the book, used to look up book details and chapter lists.
Who is responsible

What stays on your Mac
Audio files, chapters, covers, metadata, projects and settings are processed and stored only on your Mac. Finding chapters — including listening for the narrator's chapter announcements — uses models built into the app; no audio is ever sent anywhere.
What is sent, and when
Abobi connects to the internet only to look up information about the book:
- when you use metadata search or chapter names from the catalog;
- when Find Chapters checks whether the book is a published audiobook with a known chapter list. This also happens automatically after you add files, if the option Find chapters after adding files is on (it is on by default and can be turned off in the Find Chapters menu).
It then sends the title and author — or the text you typed — directly from your Mac to these services:

Abobi does not send your files, your name, email address or any identifier. As with any internet connection, these services can see your IP address, and their own privacy policies apply — for example Apple's and Google's. Without a title and author, or with the automatic option turned off and without using these features, Abobi makes no such connections.
The Find Cover button only opens your web browser with the title and author filled in. What happens there is covered by your browser's and Google's policies; Abobi itself sends nothing.
Purchases
The full version is sold through the Mac App Store. Apple processes the payment; we never see your payment details or who you are. Apple provides developers only with anonymous sales reports.
What we don't do
- No accounts or sign-in.
- No analytics, advertising or third-party tracking code.
- No selling or sharing of data — there is none to share.
If you have chosen in macOS to share crash data with app developers, Apple may pass anonymous crash reports on to us. You control this in System Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements.
When you email us
Help › Report a Problem… opens a new message in your own email app, addressed to us and containing the Abobi version, macOS version, Mac model and interface language. Nothing is sent until you send it yourself, and you see the whole message first. If you write to support, we use your email address and message only to reply to you. We keep the correspondence only as long as needed to help you and delete it on request. Email to workadaytools.com is forwarded by Cloudflare.
This website
This website uses no cookies, analytics or external fonts. It is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes technical data such as IP addresses to deliver and protect the site.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask what data we hold about you, and ask for it to be corrected or deleted. In practice the only such data is email you have sent us. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority; in Poland that is the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (UODO).
Children
Abobi is suitable for all ages and collects no data from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with an updated date.
